Interim Head of Finance

We have exclusively partnered with a leading asset management firm based in London, seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Head of Finance to join their senior management team. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, extensive financial expertise, and a proven track record in financial control, planning, and investor relations within the asset management sector. This role will be pivotal in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring robust financial control, and driving the firm's financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the firm's financial control and accounting operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard the company's assets.
  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Prepare, review, and monitor budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop long-term financial planning models to support the company's strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual statutory audit process, liaising with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Collaborate with senior management to drive strategic initiatives and business planning.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of financial reports to investors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with investors, addressing queries and providing timely updates on financial performance.
  • Responsible for the effective management of VAT and Corporate Tax reporting
  • Liaise directly with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to ensure the firm's compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the firm's adherence to all FCA reporting deadlines and requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects involving internal and external stakeholders
  • Significant relevant experience gained within an asset manager
  • Previous experience of dealing with the FCA directly
  • Solid experience / background as a Financial Controller, including overseeing & implementing a mix of financial and management reporting

Our client offers a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Their offices are easily commutable
