We currently have a great opportunity for a Caretaker to join our Estates Team on the Isle of Wight on an 18.5 hour part time basis.

Working from our St Mary's Hospital site, you'll cover the core hours, Monday & Wednesday's 8.30am - 2.30pm and Friday's 10am - 4.30pm, with flexibility to change in line with the needs of the business.

The starting salary is £12,005 based on 18.5 hours per week with a free parking permit to the hospital site.

The role:

As a Caretaker at SNG you'll be making surethe property is well maintained in asafe and secure manner.

What you'll be doing:

  • General maintenance tasks including some basic plumbing and carpentry, painting and decorating as required
  • Maintaining adequate levels of spares, stock and supplies, ensuring effective forward planning
  • Ensuring all common areas of the site are frequently inspected and maintained to the highest standards of repair
  • Communicating effectively with customers and colleagues; demonstrating a clear understanding of the issue and using initiative to respond accordingly
  • Monitoring and reporting any incidents or accidents to the Assistant Accommodation Manager

We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude who can manage their own time effectively and has a passion to deliver great customer service whilst working independently.

Tools/equipment/spares are available on site, a trolley can be provided although without any lifts in the buildings, a tool bag would be more appropriate due to the number of steps and stairs.
