The successful Commercial Growth Project Engineer will evaluate customer requirements for storage of oil and chemical products and develop timely, cost effective and compliant project proposals in response to Commercial Enquiries.
- Commercial growth: Develop timely, cost effective and compliant project proposals in response to Commercial Enquiries to include Identification of any hazards associated with the proposed products and ensure that safety and environmental risks are assessed at the proposal stage and all necessary measures are taken to prevent major accidents and limit their consequences to people and the environment. Ensure that new services offered are within the limits set by the COMAH 'business envelope', hazardous substance consents and environmental permits. Where permissions are required ensure risks to approvals are documented and clearly communicated.
- Technology (Eng/Projects): Responsible for the application of appropriate engineering codes and standards and timely request of authorisation of deviations from Subject Matter Experts. Assist with the activities associated with the Management of Change process for the life cycle of the project in line with the company procedure. Assist the Project Manager with the planning and management the programme of works for Engineering Projects in line with company standards and relevant and UK / European legislation, ATEX, PLSG, API, EEMUA etc.
- HSSE: Work to standards, procedures and work instructions for Safety Critical Tasks in order to meet COMAH requirements. Ensure all tasks carried out conform to company policies, procedures and systems.
- Finance: Maintain efficient cost control and forecasting systems, utilising existing guidance on competitive tendering, contractor assessment, conditions of contract, purchase order commitment monitoring and prompt financial close-out. Provide budget proposals for Project spend and work collaboratively with Project Managers and Finance to provide management information for monthly reporting.
To be successful in this role of Commercial Growth Project Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
- PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR (ATEX), PSSR, PUWER, COMAH and CDM knowledge
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as BS EN 14015 / API 570/650/653 and BS EN 60079.
- You will have the ability to coordinate cross functional responses to customer enquiries, have a working knowledge of problem solving and be outcome oriented.
- A full Driving Licence, Project supervision and report writing are also essential.
- Considerable experience in the oil industry or similarly regulated environment, ideally COMAH
- Experience in managing ageing assets is desirable.
