Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a small finance team at a professional business on the outskirts of Exeter. This is a super opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to grow and further develop experience in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for a range of accounting duties.
- Responsible for all aspects of the sales ledger including raising invoices.
- Updating daily cash forecast, ensuring all transactions and direct debits are recorded accurately.
- Bank reconciliations, intercompany account reconciliations and supplier statement reconciliations.
- Assisting with the management of purchase ledger.
- Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies.
- Assisting with monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and income reconciliations.
- Assisting with management of cashflow.
- Supporting year end accounts preparation
- Assisting with systems and process improvements.
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000pa depending on experience.
Benefits include: 26 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, free parking.
Location: On site role
Hours: 35 hours per week, Mon - Fri, flexible start and finish with core hours of 9am - 3pm.
Start Date: Immediate start available although not essential.
Assistant Accountant - The Person:
- The successful candidate will have a proactive, friendly personality and enjoy being in a busy, varied role.
- Recent accounts experience including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations is essential. Ideally, you'll have some knowledge of month end duties.
- AAT qualified or similar is desirable, but experience and attitude are more important!
- You will need to be organised and able to work using your own initiative.
- A desire to learn and grow your accounts knowledge and skills.
