Laboratory Manager, Wickford, Essex
An excellent opportunity has become available to join a friendly Laboratory team. As the Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for the smooth running of the laboratory and supervising the laboratory technicians.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Supervising the laboratory technicians and providing training and support as required
- Holding performance reviews and setting objectives for the laboratory technicians
- Responsible for meeting the laboratory targets
- Provide support to the Technical and Sales teams as required
- Responsible for the maintenance of laboratory equipment
- You may have to cover the occasional night shift for holiday and/or sickness cover
- Maintaining high levels of health and safety management for the laboratory at all times
- Perform other related tasks as requested
Testing and Sampling:
- Responsible for all in house testing of raw materials
- Responsible for all in house testing of finished products
- Responsible for all reporting and recording of all test results
- Responsible for upkeep and ordering of all consumables required for the laboratory
- Responsible for sample disposal
- Produce laboratory blends when requested
The ideal Candidate will have:
- A Chemistry Degree
- Previous experience managing an Analytical, QC or Testing Laboratory
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work without supervision
- Ability to multi task
- Excellent time management skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Excellent IT skills with Microsoft Office
Salary and Benefits:
Salary: £34,000 per annum

08:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday
