Supervisor - Environmental Services
Wandsworth
Full time – 40 hours per week
Salary - £32,000.00 to £38,000.00 depending on experience plus Serco Benefits
Main Purpose:
- To ensure the safe and efficient delivery of services in a professional manner.
- To supervise the process of work, equipment, materials, labour and resources from inception to completion in line with Contract requirements and KPI's.
- To develop, manage and maintain excellent relations with client, customers, and employees.
- A key resource in the Local Government Management and Supervisory Team, pro-actively implementing best practice and improved methods of working across the business.
Main Accountabilities:
- Manage staffing levels to ensure the provision of a full service whilst taking in to account, vehicle servicing, MOT, and repairs.
- Manage service-related statistics.
- Ensure policies and procedures and compliance are upheld.
- To ensure that all documentation is completed within specified deadlines.
- To supervise the implementation of Contract requirements and the specification of all works.
- To monitor and inspect the standards of work completed, dealing with any matters which arise promptly.
- To identify, understand, implement, and communicate key performance indicators and ensure that these are met.
- To regularly report to line manager progress on works and any matters which may arise affecting service delivery.
- To work as part of the Management and Supervisory team, putting forward suggestions and ideas for improvements in service provision.
- To be available and contactable for emergencies and manage changes to operational requirements daily.
- To undertake Induction, supervision, management, and leadership of employees ensuring that resources are available and utilised effectively.
- To undertake regular performance management of employees resolving any issues which arise in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
- To approve staff, leave requests and maintain records of all attendance and absence.
- To manage the training and development requirements of employees.
- Conduct personal and vehicle accident investigations.
- To process information onto the Assure system.
- To report vehicle accidents to the company's insurance provider.
- Conduct return to work interviews.
- To cascade best operating practice, e.g., H&S, systems, utilisation of machinery etc, to employees, ensuring that relevant systems are put in place to achieve success.
- To develop processes with employees, both individually and within teams to encourage open and honest communications.
- Any other tasks appropriate and reasonable as defined by the CM.
What you will need for the role:
- Supervisory/management qualifications or training desirable
- I.O.S.H Managing Safely Qualification or equivalent desirable.
- Substantial experience working within Collection or equivalent relevant environment.
- Experience of IT applications Word, Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative, prioritising and managing workloads.
- Numerate and literate.
- Willingness to undertake further training.
- Clean driving licence.
- Financial/Commercial awareness.
- To be aware of the commercial and financial expectations, pro-actively managing resources to meet and exceed the requirements.
- To ensure that financial processes such as requesting purchase orders, ensuring invoices are raised and monies received are completed within required timescales for all works, including third party.
