Aspire People are currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant based in Oadby and Wigston and surrounding areas.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team. You will work across year groups supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to thrive in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEN across various year groups
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Support classroom teachers in managing behaviour and developing strategies to enhance learning
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage pupil independence and confidence in learning
- Monitor and track pupil progress, reporting to the SENCO and teaching staff
- Work closely with teachers and external professionals to support the child's development
- Ensure the safety and welfare of the children in your care at all times
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 capacity
- Ability to work across multiple year groups and adapt to different learning needs
- A passion for helping children reach their full potential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with both pupils and staff
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential
