Programme Manager - Network & Infrastructure Upgrade Programme

London - Onsite ½ days a week, may be required more if the Programme dictates

6 month contract however the project will be 3 years

Up to £800 per day

My client is looking for a Programme Manager with extensive Network & Infrastructure Upgrade experience, you will be responsible for the delivery of a 5 year, multi million pound delivery programme and roadmap to modernise their entire network. The network includes management and security services, data centre services, hardware, cabling, and software. The size and scale of the IT network includes around 80 routers, 2,600 network switches and 5,500 wireless access points connected in over 250 buildings.

The ideal candidate will have experience in all remits of upgrades which includes -

  • Security
  • Wi-Fi
  • Cloud
  • Fibre
  • Comms Rooms

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Director of IT Service and Operations by developing and managing a comprehensive programme of network and infrastructure projects, driven by the modernisation plan from inception through to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals. Defining key KPIs and monitoring progress against these.
  • Spearhead the adoption of agile methodologies within network and infrastructure projects, promoting flexibility, rapid iteration, and continuous value delivery.
  • Identifying functional lead owners and working with them on delivery of different aspects of the programme (e.g documentation and policy, integrations, cyber security etc)
  • Lead agile teams by example, encouraging collaboration, transparency, and innovation, while dismantling silos and fostering a culture of shared responsibility.
  • Responsible for programme governance - establishing appropriate governance, oversight and reporting for effective management of the programme. Reporting to Change and Digital Committee, Strategic Change, and other formal governance boards on programme progress, risks and issues
  • Implement appropriate risk management processes and identify, evaluate and mitigate risks appropriately ensuring minimal impact on programme momentum and delivery
  • Develop business cases for next epics for investment in the programme and obtaining relevant gate approval for investment.
  • Effective management of the vendors within the programme to ensure programme alignment and delivery

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Technical Programme manager with a strong background in Delivering Programmes.
  • Extensive experience Upgrading Network & Infrastructure Programmes
  • Previous experience leading and managing large programs of work (Multi million pound, complex multi year programs)
  • Agile experience - Creating stories in JIRA, Sprints, Projects Plans, Creation of Artefacts
  • Will have Strong Stakeholder Manager Experience
  • Strong Governance Experience.
  • FTSE 100 company experience
