You will also encourage participation in school productions and extracurricular activities, helping to foster students' creativity, confidence, and teamwork skills. This role is essential in ensuring students have a well-rounded education and an appreciation for the performing arts.
**Key Responsibilities for a Drama Teacher
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and engage students in all aspects of drama, from performance techniques to theoretical knowledge.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively in accordance with school policies, ensuring a safe and positive environment for learning.
- Ensure the drama curriculum is taught in line with national standards and school objectives, adapting lessons to meet the needs of all students.
- Organize and direct school plays, performances, and extracurricular drama activities, encouraging students to participate and develop their skills.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them grow and succeed in the subject.
- Work closely with colleagues in the Arts and other departments to provide a holistic learning experience for students.
- Encourage a positive attitude to learning, promoting creativity, collaboration, and self-expression in a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Maintain effective communication with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress, performances, and other drama-related activities.

**Requirements
- A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field (essential).
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
- Previous experience teaching drama in a secondary school setting is desirable.
- A genuine passion for the performing arts and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
**Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in directing school plays or managing drama clubs.
- Training in behavior management and classroom support.
- First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
