Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Family Law Solicitor to join our Family Department. You will manage your own caseload, providing expert advice in family law, including divorce, child arrangements, and financial settlements. This is an office-based role where you will represent clients in court and collaborate with other professionals to deliver the best possible outcomes. As a senior member of the team, you'll also provide mentorship to junior staff, ensuring that high standards are maintained.

In this role, you'll:

  • Handle legal matters, including divorce, child arrangements, and financial settlements.
  • Provide expert legal advice and ensure strong client communication throughout their case.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and settlement negotiations.
  • Draft key legal documents such as prenuptial agreements, separation deeds, and parenting plans.
  • Work with professionals to offer alternative dispute resolution methods like mediation and arbitration.
  • Manage junior staff, offering mentorship and ensuring the quality of work is maintained.
  • Oversee billing, collections, and cash flow, contributing to the department's financial health.
  • Stay current on family law practices and participate in training to enhance your skills and those of your colleagues.
  • Participate in marketing and networking activities, whether firm wide, departmental or office basis.

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor specialising in Family Law, with extensive experience handling divorce, child arrangements, and financial settlements. You should possess excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in client interactions. Your leadership and mentoring abilities will be crucial as you support the development of junior team members. Strong time management and multitasking skills are essential to balance the demands of a busy caseload.
