Data & Information Security Analyst - Birmingham/Leeds - 12 Month FTC
An interesting new opportunity has arisen at a leading law firm for a Data & Information Security Analyst. This is a 12-month contract based in either Birmingham or Leeds. Working closely with the internal compliance and IT teams, the main purpose of this role is to safeguard the digital assets and data held within the firm and will involve monitoring and escalating security incidents.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the network and systems for suspicious activities and security breaches.
- Investigating and responding to security incidents.
- Conducting vulnerability assessments.
- Developing and maintaining IT security policies and standards in accordance with industry best practices.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant data protection regulations.
- Conducting security awareness training for employees.
- Staying updated with emerging security technologies and recommending improvements to the security infrastructure.
- Collaborating with the IT team to ensure all remediation updates are implemented.
- Ensuring that procedures are in place to raise awareness around information security.
- Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect against cyber threats.
Main experience and skills required:
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks, standards and best practices.
- Relevant profession certifications e.g., CISSP, CISM.
- At least three years' legal sector experience in a similar role.
- Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
