A successful accountancy firm in Peterborough are seeking to hire into a key job role, for an Accountant at Manager or Supervisor level, in a varied position with great benefits, strong pay, good bonus pay potential and ongoing opportunity.
The firm are seeking someone for a key Manager level role, but open to anyone from Assistant Manager to Senior Manager level.
The job role will include:
- Running a client portfolio, responsible for work-flow around the team, books in and out, ensuring deadlines are met. The portfolio is very varied in terms of industries, there are some good-sized clients for example, a few liable to quarterly instalments and others in many sectors. This firm want to bring someone in that is personable, able to pick up the phone, go out and meet people and continue / develop client relationships.
- There is no audit, so the focus is on accounts, general practice, review / preparing year-end accounts, reviewing corporate and personal tax, reviewing management accounts, client queries, emails and discussions and adding value. Multi-tasking is key, happy to go to client meetings in a role which is predominantly reviewing, but might have some preparation of larger / more complex work.
- In terms of the firm, some of the main pluses are that they are friendly, forward thinking, completely digital / moved to an integrated system, embrace technology, automated with dext / hubdoc etc.
New recruits will largely work in the office for the probation period, but after that, some home working is available and they are very flexible around this for deliveries, appointments etc.
9-5 are their standard office hours, on-site parking, great offices, 25 days plus bank holidays, private medical after probation, quarterly bonuses if work delivered, which is on a team basis and year-end bonus potentially too.
Salary wise it really is open for the right person, I think it's sensible to assume that roles like this are generally in the £40,000 to £55,000 bracket, but if you are outside of this, we can advise the firm on salary expectations on application.
The firm have bright, open plan offices, so a great working environment with plenty of space. They are focused on client service and enjoy long-term relationships with most clients, plus their network of banks and solicitors, who often refer new clients to them.
The firm like to hire people who enjoy communicating with clients and helping to sustain and build those relationships.
Benefits include your birthday off in addition to holiday allowance, parking available freely, private healthcare, paperless, using sage, taxcalc, xero, quickbooks etc, full study support for AAT, ACCA, ACA and flexible hours, with people typically starting any time between 8 and 9.30am and choosing whether to have a ½ hour or 1 hour lunch etc. Some hybrid working is available, typically one day per week from home.
