This role sits within our Private Sector FM business division that provides catering, cleaning, hard services, pest control, and security services to a wide range of prestigious clients, within the Venues market.
About The Role:
As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing the security systems at the Arenas (Part of NEC Group). This role involves operating CCTV, surveillance equipment, coordinating with security personnel, and helping to ensure the safety and security of the Arena, customers and colleagues during events. The Control Room Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure arena event by promptly identifying and responding to security incidents.
Working hours: This is a casual contract and a variety of shifts will be available throughout the week but mainly evenings and weekends when events are taking place. This role would suit applicants who are available on evenings and weekend shifts and comfortable with a casual contract.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Oversee all Control Room and site-based security operations. Monitor live video feeds from surveillance and CCTV cameras to detect and respond to suspicious activities.
- Operate and maintain security systems, including CCTV, Halo, access control, and alarm systems.
- Communicate with security personnel and security stakeholders to coordinate responses to incidents.
- Record and report security incidents on Halo, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up.
- Conduct regular system checks to ensure all security equipment is functioning properly.
- Assist in the development and implementation of security protocols and procedures.
- Provide real-time updates and support to on-ground security teams during events.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness and promptly escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure compliance with stadium security policies and procedures.
- Participate in training sessions and stay updated on new security technologies and practices.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging security threats.
You should meet the following criteria:
- Experience of working in events or high footfall location
- SIA CCTV License is essential
- Emergency service, CCTV or control room experience is desirable
- Proactive team player with good operational security knowledge and experience in the crowded places sector.
- Good communicator who works well under pressure
- Computer literacy
- To be able to commit to evening and weekend work, around the arenas events schedule and is comfortable with a casual contract.
