We are seeking a talented Systems Architect to join our client's expert SATCOM team! They're working on the development and management of the future system architecture for the SATCOM Programmes, specifically the Skynet 6 initiative. This role is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a large public sector project, contributing to cutting-edge satellite communication technologies and systems within a SATCOM Engineering Design Authority (SEDA) Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the future SATCOM system architecture (To-Be) within the program's repository.
- Support the transition from current (As-Is) to future (To-Be) architecture, guiding the architecture roadmap.
- Provide technical architecture expertise for the SATCOM system, including integration with Defence Digital Architecture and End-to-End Enterprise Architecture.
- Ensure rigorous configuration control and documentation across the system's lifecycle.
Skills & Experience Required:
- A background in Systems Engineering, with a focus on systems analysis and architecture management for complex systems.
- Extensive experience managing architecture baselines and controlling system interfaces.
- Expertise in Satellite Communication Systems.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, bridging technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience in public sector procurement, ideally with familiarity with the Defence Operating Model.
Desirable:
- UK Developed Vetting Clearance (DV) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Military Satellite Systems and MOD working practices.
- Familiarity with architecture tools (Sparx EA, BizzDesign) and frameworks (TOGAF, NAF, MODAF).
- Understanding of architecture modeling languages such as ArchiMate and SysML.
