Berneslai Homes has an exciting 2 opportunities for an IT Assistant to join their team based in Barnsley with the ability to work agilely. You will be working on a full-time (37 hours), fixed term contract until 31st December 2025. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £22,737 to £23,144 per annum plus benefits.

The IT Assistant role:

We have an exciting opportunity for two IT Assistants to join our Performance and Information team!

As part of this brand-new role, you'll provide technical support and advice to internal and external customers and assist in maintaining, developing and the continual improvement of mobile working within the organisation.

Key duties and responsibilities of our IT Assistant:

  • Provide technical assistance to colleagues, including but not limited to the use of iPads, Androids and Windows devices.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT queries, managing and resolving low level IT service incidents and service requests.
  • Produce and maintain documentation for the online knowledgebase and manage the asset database.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction, ensuring that all interactions are handled with professionalism, empathy, and a focus on solving the customer's issues promptly.
  • Perform basic tasks on our housing system, such as password resets and account management.
  • Use MDM software to apply company builds and policies to mobile devices.
  • Support users with AV equipment for meetings.

What we're looking for in our IT Assistant:

  • GCSE English (Grade C or 4) or equivalent level qualification.
  • A positive, flexible approach to team working.
  • Experience working with software applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn how to perform an IT Support role and assist with the delivery of IT training courses.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet the needs of the post.
