They are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven individual to join their team and play a vital role in optimising their logistics operations.

The Role

As a Transport Planner, your duties will include:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost-effective transportation plans, utilising various modes of delivery (e.g., trucks, planes) to meet diverse customer needs and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all relevant transportation regulations and ensure all operations adhere to these guidelines.
  • Manage driver schedules, including start/finish times, and optimise routes to maximise productivity and ensure compliance with legal working hours.
  • Proactively secure and allocate the necessary transportation methods (vehicles, carriers) and personnel (drivers) to meet operational demands.
  • Maintain effective communication with third-party subcontractors to ensure seamless logistics flow.
  • Possess a strong understanding of logistics planning systems and processes to streamline operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Process departmental documents and driver paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Respond to customer inquiries (phone calls, emails) in a timely, friendly, and supportive manner, prioritising customer satisfaction

The Successful Candidate

As a Transport Planner, you will have the following attributes:

  • Proven experience in a similar logistics role, ideally within a global company, managing complex transportation networks and fleets.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to clearly convey information and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • A logical thinker with strong problem-solving skills, adept at multitasking and prioritising under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel) and demonstrates a willingness to learn and adapt to new logistics software and IT platforms.
  • Experience working effectively with third-party logistics providers and service partners to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to learn, grow, and identify opportunities to optimise logistics processes.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of logistics principles and best practices.

Salary - Up to £35,000 DOE plus comprehensive benefits package
