Position: Lead Job Coach

Salary: £15.34 to £16.78 per hour

Location: Coventry

Type: Temp, Office Based

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Main purpose and scope of post

  • To have responsibility for the leadership and development for the Employability Team and ensure a quality service that offers of high quality, personalised support for learners with disabilities and/or other disadvantages which enables learners to seek, access and retain employment experiences with the long-term view of accessing paid employment and/or increased independence.
  • To effectively lead the liaison with employers in the employability process.
  • To work with the Head of Employment Services to lead and shape the College's response to new and emerging employment related funding opportunities at all levels.
  • To work with the Head of Employment Services manage the deployment, implementation and development of the Adult Education Budget.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive culture that embeds the College's values and beliefs, and ensures that learners and staff feel valued, safe and supported
  • Be a role model for outstanding employability skills and practices
  • Present a positive, "can do" attitude and take personal responsibility for own actions
  • Commit to a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that own contribution to the role and the College is of a very high standard
  • Represent the College positively and effectively in all dealings with external partners, parents, stakeholders and agencies
  • Take responsibility for actively participating in the appraisal process and own continuing professional development arising from that process and on-going feedback
  • Be responsible for taking all appropriate measures to safeguard young people and promote their welfare and actively promote Equality & Diversity in the College
  • Deputise for Head of Employment Services as and when required
  • Support learners to improve their maths and English skills through everyday experiences

Employer Engagement

  • To actively maintain external employer connections to enhance the placement opportunities.
  • To follow up placement leads received from Job Coaches.
  • To develop effective working relationships with supported employment services and other external support organisations

Planning and Monitoring

  • To work with the Head of Employment in developing and implementing the employability strategic plan and subsequent operating/action plans.
  • To be responsible for the effective planning and monitoring Job Coaches completion of transitional review and Career action plans.
  • Head of Employment services with the completion of the annual Self-Assessment Review (SAR) and implementation of the departmental quality improvement plan
  • To liaise closely with key staff to ensure that the employability process is planned and effectively linked to ILP targets.
  • To request, collect and collate data on Databridge as required by the Head of Employment Services.
  • To be responsible for overseeing the completion of employment experience monitoring reports from the Learners and employer perspectives.
  • To be responsible for the review of employability skills assessments
  • To provide feedback to relevant internal and external partners regarding individual learner's progress, issues or effective support strategies.
  • To monitor and review progress of employability experiences and targets on an on-going basis.
