Support Worker for Primary Alternative School in Rawtenstall
Rawtenstall , Lancashire
Term Time Only with the view to go on contract permanent.
Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Worker to work within a Primary Alternative School in Rawtenstall . The ideal candidate will have experience working with children from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) up to Key Stage 2 and be able to deescalate challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.
Responsibilities:
- Providing support to children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Assisting in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Supporting the class teacher in managing the classroom and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children
- Promoting positive behaviour and providing guidance to children when necessary
- Collaborating with other professionals such as psychologists, social workers, and healthcare providers to ensure that the needs of the children are being met.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children from EYFS up to Key Stage 2
- Experience in deescalating challenging behaviour and working with children with SEMH needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A patient and caring attitude towards children
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ Level 2 or 3.
