A South-West London borough council is seeking an experienced Cloud Support Engineer with strong expertise in AWS infrastructure to oversee the support of systems migrating from on-premises servers to AWS. Following the migration (expected completion by January 2025), this role will transition to providing Level 3 support, ensuring smooth operations, diagnosing issues, and upskilling the internal team to manage AWS independently. • Patching & Procedures: Maintain infrastructure health by overseeing patching and ensuring procedural compliance.
  • Server Management & Mentorship: Build new servers as needed and mentor the IT team on server setup, troubleshooting, and AWS best practices.
  • Internal Team Development: Run "show and tell" sessions and hands-on training to help full-time employees gain AWS knowledge, equipping them to independently support the infrastructure over time.
  • Knowledge Base & Documentation: Create and maintain documentation and procedures, contributing to a comprehensive knowledge base for the team.
  • Collaborative IT Support: Support other IT work to allow full-time employees to focus on AWS learning and training.

Requirements:
