Senior Procurement Contracts Manager

My public sector client, based in the South West, is looking for a Senior Procurement Contract Manager to join the team. Reporting into the Head of Procurement the role will be key to the delivery of the strategic direction of the procurement team as well as the development of category strategies and the development and understanding of the new procurement regulations.

The main duties will include:

  • Providing expert advice on procurement and contracting matters, ensuring best value is achieved and legislation and regulations are followed
  • Manage all aspects of the procurement process including sourcing, contracting and supplier relationship management
  • Developing category strategies and delivering the annual procurement workplan
  • Lead the development, design and implementation of all tender activity for your category portfolio
  • Deliver excellent service to all procurement stakeholders
  • Prepare tender documents and seek the contract award decision
  • Ensure public sector procurement regulations are followed and also ensure the department is prepared for the introduction of the new procurement legislation.

This is a really exciting opportunity and requires a candidate with strong procurement and contracting knowledge as well as a strong understanding of PRC 2015 and an understanding of the new legislation being introduced in October. You will also need to be able to demonstrate contract management experience.

The role is being offered on a permanent basis and the starting salary is £43,500. The working pattern is hybrid with 1 day every fortnight in the Exeter office.
