Exams Access Arrangement Tutor

Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Bury.
Role Purpose
- Assess students for exam access arrangements and collaborate with curriculum staff to establish their working methods and necessary accommodations.
- Share information with colleagues to support student progress and assist in training for SEND strategies.
- Manage a small caseload of EHCP students, focusing on their specific needs, and adapt to evolving responsibilities in Further Education.
Main Duties
- Conduct and document assessments for exam access arrangements, ensuring compliance with funding, audit requirements, and JCQ/SEND guidelines.
- Communicate exam access arrangements and assistive technology use to students, staff, and curriculum teams, fostering independence and engagement.
- Manage and assess high-needs learners, ensuring targets align with EHCP outcomes and liaise with relevant staff to support individual learner needs.
- Provide training to Educational Support Workers and staff, ensuring understanding of assessment processes and exam arrangements.
- Support the examination process and contribute to curriculum and area development, maintaining high standards of customer care and confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, safeguarding, and GDPR policies, while staying updated on professional knowledge and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in Assessment for Access Arrangements (or equivalent).
- Recent experience in assessing candidates for Access Arrangements.
- Essential experience in guiding young people toward positive outcomes.
- Able to pass a DBS check
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
