A prominent motor company based in Chatham is seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This role is ideal for individuals who are available to start within the next month and possess a driving licence, as travel to other sites may be required.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Processing supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payment of supplier accounts.
  • Liaising with suppliers and resolving any invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date purchase ledger records.
  • Assisting with month-end closing procedures and reports.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Traveling to other company sites as needed for financial coordination and support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Purchase Ledger Clerk or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must possess a valid driving licence due to the location and travel requirements.
