About Us: The school ZEN Educate is working with is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for boys aged 8-16 who struggle to cope with mainstream educational settings due to their social, emotional, behavioural, or communication needs. Role Overview: As a Part-Time Science Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and accessible science lessons that meet the needs of our students. You will create a supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity and fosters a love for science. Your ability to manage challenging behaviour and provide individualized support will be crucial in helping our students succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and therapists to ensure holistic support for students.
- Participate in school activities and events that promote student engagement and wellbeing.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Science.
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate and patient approach to working with students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
