Interim VAT Support Officer

FULL-TIME INTERIM VAT SUPPORT OFFICER

(SIX-MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

We are currently seeking to recruit a full-time VAT Support Officer to work with the Finance Department on the introduction of VAT on fees. This is a fixed term contract for 6 months from early November 2024 to the end of April 2025. The postholder will be responsible for setting up and developing the School's finance systems for the purposes of operating as a VAT registered School. The successful candidate will ideally be ACCA / CIMA qualified although qualification by experience will be considered. Knowledge of the VAT changes proposed for independent schools and a keen interest in this aspect of work is essential.

This is a full-time position working 45 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:30 with half an hour unpaid for lunch. Although full-time hours are preferrable, part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate.

We are a thriving Co-educational Preparatory School in Shrewsbury, Shropshire with over 300 Pupils, aged 3-13 years. The School is situated on a beautiful 30-acre estate and offers flexi boarding supporting our independence and enrichment programs.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a friendly and successful Independent School, being an integral part of Prestfelde's daily operations. The position is due to start early November 2024.
