Job Title: Part-Time Management Accountant
Job Type: 6 months minimum fixed term contract

Hays are currently recruiting for a leading manufacturer based within the Sunderland area. Priding themselves on innovation, quality, and sustainability. The team is dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement, and are looking for a talented Management Accountant to join them on a part-time basis.
Your new role
As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our Accounting & Finance team. Your responsibilities will include analysing key financial information, optimising financial planning, and assisting senior business managers with decision-making. You'll prepare financial reports and contribute to operational efficiency within the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and reporting of the plant financial performance each month, analysing and interpreting results and providing commentary against budget / forecast
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, completion of balance sheet reconciliations and balance sheet reviews with the corporate finance team.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and tracking project spend from approval to asset capitalisation
- Work closely with purchasing and accounts payable departments to ensure timely resolution of issues
- Provide all departments with the financial data required to make informed decisions, including explanations/interpretation
- Supporting external and internal audits
What you'll need to succeed
- Part or newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience of a busy finance function
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver information in a concise manner
