Corporate Funding Accountant

We are seeking a Corporate Funding Accountant to join our Finance Department. This role is crucial for leading the development and extension of financial reporting and management tools to support the delivery of corporate objectives. The successful candidate will play a proactive role in the production and delivery of statutory accounts, annual budgets, and associated monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead the development and extension of financial reporting and management tools.
- Participate in and lead aspects of the production and delivery of statutory accounts, annual revenue and capital budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial standards and practices.
- Design, implement, and maintain systems required for delivering the objectives of your function.
- Manage your function proactively, including participation in the delivery of your directorate's objectives.
- Demonstrate commitment to corporate processes and ensure their delivery at all times.
- Encourage partnership working across the organisation and maintain a robust monthly financial control process.
- Liaise with colleagues across the business to ensure timely delivery of corporate and financial outcomes.
- Prepare comprehensive financial guidance notes and maintain a complete understanding of relevant legislation and standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience.
- CIMA / CCAB qualified or passed finalist.
- Strong experience in a similar role, preferably within a Local Authority environment.
- Deep understanding of financial controls and financial reporting standards.
- Practical knowledge of CIPFA/IFRS Code.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
