Senior AWS Engineer, AWS Consultant, AWS Architect.
Senior AWS Engineer required for a leading financial services organisation based in Cirencester.
As well as providing general support, the successful candidate will work in a consultative role for various projects to make recommendations on appropriate solutions, to improve performance and to plan proactively for both internal and user driven changes and growth.
As the senior engineer, it is expected that you will possess a higher level of technical knowledge, keeping up to date on new tools and techniques, future technical roadmap recommendations and deputising for your manager.
Engagement via umbrella company only.
Attendance on site 2 days per week.
General responsibilities: -
- work with all members of Technology Operations, particularly Engineers, Network Engineers, and other areas such as Solution Architects Application Developers and Project teams to design the infrastructure for applications in AWS.
- Deliver change for projects
- Perform operational activities as required within the estate (incident resolution and maintenance
- Recommend and deliver cost savings and cost effective solutions
- To maintain the cybersecurity stance of our IT infrastructure.
- Act a consultant for the technology area for complex problems and issues to help resolve incidents for challenging requirements.
- To ensure knowledge of AWS tools to enable recommendation for adoption and ensure improvement of services as the AWS platform evolves.
Skills and experience required: -
- AWS certification
- Demonstrate at least 3 years of AWS practical experience running Windows and Linux workloads on AWS
- Relevant experience supporting Enterprise infrastructure including networks, firewalls, load balancing and Active Directory
- Managing or working within hybrid-cloud enterprise level configurations
- Appreciation of Data Centre management concepts and exposure to cloud migration initiatives
- All AWS components preferred
- Serverless Architecture principles
- Exposure to leveraging a successful balance between security, access control, and auditing capabilities in the cloud; AWS IAM, AWS Config, and AWS key management preferred
- Understanding of High-Availability and Disaster recovery AWS based workloads
- Highly technical and analytical who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment
