We are seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our team and provide efficient and effective payroll administration support. This role involves ensuring the accurate processing of wages, salaries, and other forms of compensation, as well as managing benefits processes within our dynamic payroll team.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Process all amendments via Workday or directly to the payroll system (iTrent) before the payroll deadline.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding any missing data and ensure completeness in Workday and iTrent.
  • Review errors, exceptions, and elements reports and reconcile to final payroll.
  • Update the system for all leave types to ensure accurate pay calculation.
  • Process pension deductions accurately in line with Auto-enrolment and Pensions Salary Sacrifice/Exchange procedures.
  • Enter documentation for new starters and leavers onto the payroll system.
  • Distribute P45s, statements of earnings, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with BACS reports, payroll summaries, final analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely transmission of payroll information to the BACS system.
  • Respond promptly to queries from the Payroll Admin inbox.
  • Assist the finance team with payroll reconciliation.
  • Prepare and issue P60s and provide details to Inland Revenue by the deadline.
  • Support other team members, including managing weekly payroll and audits.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Update and maintain employee payroll records with accuracy.
  • Generate and analyse payroll reports for financial and management reporting.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure excellent customer service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Understanding of UK payroll practices/procedures, including legislative requirements.
  • Ability to perform manual payroll calculations, including family leaves & tax calculations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks accurately to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience of using iTrent and Workday.
  • Experience in HR shared services.
  • Experience managing multiple payrolls.
