KS2 Teaching Assistant | Shepherd's Bush, W12 | £95-£105 | Long-Term to Perm | Sept 2024

Are you a dedicated and patient individual with a passion for making a real difference in the lives of children? Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour and a strong understanding of speech and language difficulties?

LTF Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 student with significant speech and language difficulties and challenging behaviour. You will work closely with the class teacher and our SENDCo to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment, tailored to the student's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to the student during lessons and other school activities.
  • Implement and adapt learning activities to meet the student's individual needs.
  • Support the development of the student's communication skills using specialised strategies and resources.
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviour with patience and consistency.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the student's well-being and progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Knowledge of speech and language difficulties and appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.
