Our Team

The broader Operational Risk Management team covers Operational Risk, Operational Resilience, People Risk, Payments Risk, Technology & Cyber Risk and Change Risk. This team heads up the Risk Transformation programme, which looks to design many of the basic principles of risk management adopted by Virgin Money across a 4-year timeframe. We also look after the governance, risk and compliance (GRC) system and all digital tools for risk management, alongside People Risk, reporting and the Operational Risk framework. This role reports to the Operational Risk Systems Manager. The role has a strong focus on the implementation and management of the GRC system, therefore the role works closely with other risk teams across the 3 Lines of Defence, as well as wider functions that leverage the Risk Management system to form an enterprise-wide view of Virgin Money's risk profile.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the Risk Systems Manager with the day-to-day management of the IRM module in ServiceNow including configuration changes, user acceptance testing, system design and maintenance of the three platform environments.
  • Maintain and embed the Operating Model of the tool ensuring this is widely understood by all colleagues who will interact with the tool.
  • Support the Bank with the roll out of the new GRC system, IRM ServiceNow including supporting with bank-wide training, license administration and requirement gathering.
  • Providing advice and training on the new GRC system and how best to use it, designing reports, and embedding culture of new system.
  • Proactively identify system improvements working with the wider ORM team to ensure alignment to the framework.
  • Manage corresponding communication between the business and Operational Risk team triaging system and framework queries.
  • Establish, maintain, and create new MI to provide insights and support data-driven decision making across the bank, as well as to support regulatory, Executive, financial reporting.
  • Along with the Operational Risk Systems Manager, advise on how to adapt system-specific processes to meet new regulations, or design new processes and configure the system accordingly to ensure we are successfully reporting on the key risks for the Bank.

We need you to have

  • GRC system management and configuration, preferably ServiceNow IRM capabilities.
  • Knowledge across a subset of the following: GRC design, GRC implementation, GRC rollout, control design, fraud, risk reporting, process-based risk management.
  • Strong understanding of Retail and/or SME banking, as well as Risk.
  • Great organisation skills.
  • Experience of delivering training to colleagues.
  • Experience in designing reports for a variety of stakeholders, ensuring key messages are presented appropriately for the audience.

  • Knowledge of Risk Management disciplines and the 3 Lines of Defence model in place across the Bank.
  • Subject matter expertise in a related and relevant area of Risk.
  • A confident communicator, facilitator and influencer.
