We are seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our new residential home for children in LU5. This role is integral to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive. If you are compassionate, dedicated, and ready to make a meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the work of Support Workers and Waking Night Support Workers, offering guidance and supervision.
  • Lead shifts, ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are completed effectively.
  • Build positive relationships with children, providing emotional and practical support.
  • Assist in the training and development of staff, promoting best practices in childcare.
  • Support the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of our children.
  • Provide reassurance and support to children during the night.
  • Maintain thoughtful and meaningful records of the children's journeys.
  • Create opportunities for children to make happy memories.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children and young people in a similar setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals.
  • Confidence to handle challenging situations with patience and calmness.
  • Leadership skills to guide a team towards positive outcomes.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
