Compliance + Onboarding Support Analyst - FX & Payments

Our client is a London-based company specializing in B2B multi-currency payment accounts, FX and Cards, serving a global customer base. As they scale their operations, they are building a UK-based back office and operations team that offers a blend of office-based work and work-from-home flexibility.

They are looking for motivated individuals to join their team, particularly in the areas of compliance, onboarding and customer support. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the onboarding of new clients while also supporting other compliance and back-office functions as needed.

The role involves supporting key functions in Onboarding, Transaction Monitoring, and Reporting, with primary responsibilities that include:

  • Liaising with Prospective Customers: Gathering required documentation and information for client onboarding.
  • Completing KYB/KYC and AML Checks: Ensuring all Know Your Business (KYB), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks are conducted accurately.
  • Client Profile Management: Creating and managing client profiles within their CRM and transactional systems, maintaining up-to-date records and detailed notes.
  • Transaction Management Support: Assisting with the operation and oversight of their Transaction Management systems.

Responsibilities:

Onboarding and KYC:

  • Pipeline Management: Oversee the onboarding pipeline daily, keeping key stakeholders informed on the status of customer applications.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence checks on new customers and partners, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • KYC Compliance: Review and verify customer information to ensure compliance with KYC and AML regulations.
  • Risk Evaluation: Assess the risk profiles of potential customers to determine the appropriate level of due diligence required.
  • Documentation Management: Collect, organize, and maintain accurate and up-to-date customer documentation.
  • Profile Creation: Create and maintain customer profiles within their systems, ensuring data accuracy within the platform and CRM.
  • Customer Communication: Engage effectively with customers to obtain any missing or additional information required for onboarding.

Compliance Support:

  • Transaction Monitoring: Manage and review transaction alerts, liaising with customers to obtain due diligence on transactions requiring additional information.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay current with relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements.
  • Periodic Reviews: Conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to address compliance-related issues.
  • Suspicious Activity Detection: Analyse customer relationships, documentation, activity patterns, and transactions to identify potential suspicious activity or inconsistencies with the client's profile.
  • Risk Identification: Identify high-risk clients based on red flags or other risk indicators.
  • Issue Resolution: Address day-to-day challenges in the CDD process, escalating complex issues through appropriate channels.

About You:

  • Experience: Likely a graduate with 2-3 years of experience in compliance, onboarding, KYC, or operations support roles within finance, fintech, or the payments industry. Ideally, you have 1-2 years of experience specifically in a KYC role.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented with the ability to analyse various document types and extract key information.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on clarity and precision in written communication.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with a determined and proactive approach. Able to collaborate effectively within a team environment while also working independently.
  • Integrity: High level of integrity with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • KYC/AML Knowledge: Experience dealing with KYC/AML for a diverse range of client types, including corporates, financial entities, partnerships, offshore trusts/funds, and individuals. Proficient in establishing Source of Income & Source of Wealth for higher-risk entities.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with screening tools, KYC solutions, and relevant software applications, including desktop-based office software such as MS Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ongoing Monitoring: Experience in ongoing monitoring of clients, with the ability to provide customer support and assistance as required.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the banking, fintech, or financial services industry is preferred.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications related to compliance, AML, or KYC are a plus, or a commitment to pursuing these qualifications.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
  • Operational Experience: Proven ability to work successfully in a target-driven operational environment, managing performance and targets effectively in a fast-paced, pressured setting.
