Supply Chain Manager

Butler Rose are currently partnered with a Honiton based manufacturing business who have a current requirement for a Supply Chain Manager on a contract basis.

As Supply Chain Manager your role will be wide ranging in scope and will be responsible for all supply related actively for the business, as well as the management of a team of staff. You will have a key focus on a range of supply chain based responsibilities listed below. The role is on an ongoing contract basis. Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • To manage the supply chain function across the business; this will include but not limited to: Production Planning, Change Control, Procurement & Production Engineering. Providing cover during times of absence or high activity.
  • To develop, implement and maintain excellent commercial and manufacturing Processes and Work Instructions. Continuously develop them to ensure alignment across the group, integration to ERP system and provide objective data for continuous improvement.
  • Analyse Engineering drawings and BOM's to make effective make/buy decisions, based on the resources available to group whilst understanding the financial benefits through in-house manufacture and sub- contracting via supply chain.
  • To coordinate and manage Group Strategic and Commercial decisions across Operations.
  • To work closely across functions to support Programme Managers with respect to Supply Chain during the development of current and new products to ensure the timely release of the prototype/production material, with particular emphasis on time, quality, and cost.
  • To assist in the resolution of contract, quality or delivery problems.
  • Driving and directing critical activities internally & externally to ensure on time delivery of goods and or services to the correct terms.
  • To manage and maintain the departmental KPI's for the monthly Director's report.
  • Deliver PQQ and bid responses in support of projects.
  • Maximise protection of commercial position through imposition, monitoring and enforcement of legal remedies against our supply chain (e.g., recovery of liquidated damages and other costs) where relevant.
  • Manage operational risks that could affect or interrupt the supply chain.
  • Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain.
  • Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector.

To be chosen for the role you must possess the following experience:

  • Strategic procurement and supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Team management experience

Package:

  • Salary up to £58,000, or day rate £320 pr day
  • Ongoing Contract in a fast-growing company
  • Site based Monday to Friday
  • Challenging projects in dynamic collaborative team
