Job Title: Data Specialist

An opportunity has arisen in our IT department for a Data Specialist. The Data Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and optimising data and the use of AI within Wightlink.
Primary responsibilities involve the governance and integrity of our corporate data. Enabling the collecting, organising, and analysing of data including Larger Language Models (AgI), to extract valuable insights to inform the decision-making processes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security, while also contributing to the development and maintenance of databases, data systems, and related infrastructure.
What you'll be doing
- Ensure accuracy, integrity and security of the data in the business complying with legislative (GDPR) requirements.
- Responsible for Extract, clean, and transform complex datasets from various sources to perform insightful analyses, uncover patterns, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Administration of Power BI, Sharepoint and data management tools including LLMs
- Automate business processes and workflows using Power Automate or UI Path, creating efficient and streamlined solutions.
- Work with Power BI over a SQL data warehouse and specify / assist with ETL improvements to extend reporting and analytics capability.
- Insight Generation: Interpret data to create meaningful insights, visualisations, and reports that support key stakeholders in making informed decisions
What we're looking for
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
- Proficiency in programming languages used in data analysis - SQL
- Expert knowledge and experience of using Power BI or similar data visualisation tool
- Knowledge of machine learning platforms and algorithms
