About the role
- Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager
- Accountable for the delivery of a large sized project; or be accountable for the delivery of multiple medium sized projects / subsystems / technologies.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver end-to-end project milestones and goals.
- Act as the single point of contact responsible for project schedule, cost, risks, and scope
- Generate a suitable Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that enables level 0, 1, 2 and 3 plans to be developed; track progress and provide updates to the programme team and key stakeholders as required.
- Ensure a suitable responsibility matrix (RACI) has been generated for each project.
- Develop a RAID log for each project. For all risks ensure a suitable mitigate is in place
The right candidate
- Educated to Degree level in a suitable Technical/Engineering/Science discipline
- Qualified in Project or Programme Management (e.g. APM PMQ, Prince2), or equivalent experience
- Experience of influencing and managing across global teams
- Significant demonstrable experience of managing complex technical programmes, projects spanning multiple phases/years to time, spec, and cost; have experience in managing projects with software content
- Able to analyse complex programme requirements and generate a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as part of high-level programme definition
- Experience of project planning tools (such as Microsoft Project), processes and methodologies
- Experience of RAID logs (Risk, Actions, Issues and Decisions)
