As an HLTA, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with ALN, ensuring they receive personalized and effective educational support. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a positive learning environment that meets the unique needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students with ALN, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis.
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of differentiated lessons and learning activities.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and adapt resources and strategies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support classroom management and cover classes when necessary.
Requirements:
- HLTA Level 4 qualification is highly desirable.
- Applicants with Cover Supervisor experience or a relevant degree and one-to-one teaching experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Proven experience working with children with ALN.
- You will need a good standard of written and spoken English and have capacity to develop curriculum knowledge. You must possess excellent communication skills and be computer literate.
- We will work around your availability and your own travel limits, but if you are looking to secure something long term, the willingness to work full time is a significant advantage.
- Being able to work the full school day of 8.30-15.30 is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of all students.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond positively to the changing needs of students and the school community.
- Although not essential, we are always looking for Welsh speaking staff in particular and can often offer enhanced rates for placements at Welsh Medium Schools.
