Finance Administration Assistant - Penrith
Temporary for 8 weeks, possibly longer
£12.88 per hour
Full or Part time hours available – with flexible days/start times
We have an urgent need for a Finance Administration assistant to deliver efficient financial and administrative support across our client's business, with a focus on accounting functions.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Input data onto the finance system, including purchase orders, invoices, payments, and supplier information.
- Manage financial records, ensuring they are scanned, filed, and stored correctly.
- Support the ordering, coding, and authorisation of goods and services for each department.
- Monitor invoice preparation and collection of monies due.
- Assist with bank reconciliation and petty cash processes.
- Manage debtors and creditors, process supplier statements, and monitor payment runs.
- Support the VAT reclaim process and provide general administrative support.
- Greet visitors, manage incoming and outgoing post, and handle phone and email enquiries.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings and events, including taking meeting notes.
- Maintain high-quality data records and ensure a suitable audit trail for all transactions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Numerate and accurate with excellent communication skills.
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs, including Maths and English.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other IT packages.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Desirable: NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant discipline, first aid qualification, finance system experience, and minute-taking skills.
