MLC Partners is working with a high profile public sector strategic oversight body to recruit an Accountant to support the commissioning directorate.
They are looking for a finance professional who will report into the Finance Business Partner and provide a professional finance service that supports the objectives and priorities of the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Supporting the Head of Financial Management and Finance Business Partners in carrying out financial management and accounting services.
- Take responsibility for elements of the budget including budget setting and re-forecasting, as well as producing elements of the annual statutory accounts and budgets.
- Oversee segments and deliver the medium-term financial plan.
- Conduct data analysis and interpretation according to accounting standards, and to offer solutions and recommendations.
- Support internal and external auditors.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Qualified/part-qualified accountant (CIPFA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent), AAT qualified or qualified by experience with proven background in local authority accounting.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to liaise with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.
- Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to draft and contribute to reports and briefings across the wider Finance team.
This role is primarily remote with the requirement of coming into the London central office 1-2 days per month.
