Position Overview:
I am are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in our project planning and execution, providing accurate cost estimates that ensure our projects are both competitive and profitable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze architectural plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate and complete estimates.
- Review and evaluate historical data from previous projects to refine and improve future estimates.
- Maintain an updated database of unit costs and prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions.
- Monitor project costs and progress, adjusting estimates as necessary to reflect changes in project scope or conditions.
- Provide cost analysis and value engineering options to optimize project budgets.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably within the residential construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst, etc.).
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
