We're looking for a dynamic and innovative Head of SEND Travel Assistance to join our team and lead this crucial service.

With a budget exceeding £5 million, you'll have the responsibility and opportunity to innovate and make impactful decisions.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Strategically: Oversee the commissioning, brokering, and delivery of all travel assistance services, ensuring they meet the needs of those with SEND.
  • Manage a Multi-Million Pound Budget: Forecast and monitor spend, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising service quality.
  • Drive Efficiency: Regularly review and improve travel arrangements, promoting sustainable travel options as the preferred choice.
  • Ensure Compliance: Enforce robust policies and strategies, staying ahead of legislative and local requirements.
  • Foster Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, stakeholders, and providers, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Innovate and Improve: Develop service enhancements and new business processes to keep the service efficient, safe, and forward-thinking.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in contract management and service delivery, ideally within a similar field.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team and build effective partnerships.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people with SEND.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing large budgets and driving efficiencies.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, safeguarding, and the well-being of service users.
