Job Title: Solicitor - Contentious Probate (Associate, Senior Associate, Legal Director)

Location: Bristol / Exeter

Salary: £60-85,000 DOE.

Our client is a leading law firm in Bristol (and Exeter), recognised for their exceptional service and expertise in contentious probate matters. They pride themselves on their client-focused approach and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for their clients. We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Solicitor to join their dynamic team specialising in contentious probate.

Role Overview: As a Solicitor in their contentious probate department, you will handle a diverse caseload of complex probate disputes, including will challenges, disputes over the validity of wills, inheritance claims, and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. You will work closely with clients, providing them with expert legal advice and representation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload of contentious probate matters from inception to resolution.
  • Provide clear and practical legal advice to clients on a range of probate disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and correspondence.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different departments to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and contribute to the firm's knowledge base.
  • Participate in business development activities, including networking and client seminars.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor with experience in contentious probate or related areas of law.
  • Strong understanding of probate law and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
