Monday – Friday, 8am – 5am

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to join the logistics team of a leading manufacturer of building materials.

The Candidate;

  • Must hold a Class 1 or Class 2 license.
  • Previous experience in managing a hand on transport operation
  • Proven experience in managing warehouse staff and operations.
  • Experience within the building, construction or similar industries would be advantageous
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work hands-on and lead by example.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using transport and logistics software.

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Oversee and manage the transport operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.
  • Plan and implement strategies to improve transport and warehouse operations.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all transport activities align with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain the fleet, ensuring all vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training to staff as needed.
  • Handle any operational issues and resolve them promptly.
  • Main point of contact for the site for all queries from our customers, sub-contract hauliers and drivers
  • Liaising with the wider transport team to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times
  • Ensure effective planning and utilization of drivers and sub-contract haulage for all deliveries by the Transport Planning Team
  • Manage compliance for all Legal and Company standards, in particular Fleet compliance and Health & Safety
