Band 8a - £26.06 per hour - Monday to Friday 08.00-4.30 - 37.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced Capital Projects Manager with a proven record in delivering construction related projects? Can you communicate effectively to stakeholders and meet their expectations whilst working to budgets, timeframes and managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously?

A great entry opportunity for an external Capital Estates PM Specialist to make a real difference in the services offered to the services and functions of their local NHS service, as well as directly impacting the longevity of the building that our NHS teams will use for years to come.

You will be responsible for strategic planning and the delivery of projects across the estate; working with a range of stakeholders, promoting and embedding the principles of good project management and supporting the organisation to achieve strategic objectives. The role is due to start within the next few weeks and the main focus is a large ongoing project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for successful delivery of capital projects
  • Manage the whole lifecycle of a project or programme of change, ensuring excellent governance throughout; managing the set up and delivery of multiple projects within a programme of work.
  • Project reporting; managing costs; managing risks and issues.
  • Develop programme and project management tools, from design to delivery
  • Carry out full surveys and preparations of drawings, specifications and tender documents
  • Be responsible for the operational commissioning of Health Service buildings
  • Provide additional advice and guidance to the wider Divisional and Project Management teams.

Person Specification

Essential criteria:

  • Experience of senior operational/manager in a relative field, preferably in Capital Projects.
  • Programme management experience of driving property and estate related programmes.
  • Management of multiple capital budgets and meeting specified targets across multiple projects.

Those with the following skills are at a distinct advantage:

  • Previous NHS & HTM knowledge and application experience.
  • Building Information Modelling qualifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of CDM Regulations.

The successful candidate will also need:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to use a practical problem-solving approach in everyday situations.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to reprioritise own work and that of others to ensure tasks are delivered on time.
  • Experience in meeting & briefing of contractors & staff re operational arrangements.
  • Practical hands-on approach to all tasks to make it happen.
