Business Improvement Officer

The Opportunity

Salary: £33,945 to £36,648 per annum.

Location: Your office base will be Chichester and a typical week will combine homeworking with attendance at the office this is led by the needs of the service.

Working pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week. Flexible working options available, to be agreed with your line manager.

Working as part of a team, this role contributes to the implementation of innovation and new ways of working, including identifying opportunities for efficiency, reducing costs and improving service delivery.

You will support assigned business improvement and change initiatives to deliver high quality improvement outcomes within target timescales. This will involve working both independently and collaboratively to undertake a range of shaping, planning, reporting and analytical activity to discover relevant information about current service(s), provide input to new design models, assess options and draft proposals, track progress, and identify and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies in support of programme and continuous improvement delivery.

To support your development in the role, you will be encouraged to undertake and complete the Higher Apprenticeship Level 4 - Improvement practitioner / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.

What we need from you?

  • Experience of delivering business improvement through the practical application of relevant tools and techniques.

  • Experience of undertaking research and analysis of complex data and building options and recommendations to resolve business problems.

  • Experience of business process redesign to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Knowledge of project and change management techniques including:

  • Stakeholder communications and engagement planning and delivery.

  • Understanding change impacts and identifying appropriate business readiness activity.

  • Planning, risk and issue management, tracking and reporting progress.

  • Skilled in scoping and managing work across teams, meeting deadlines, and demonstrating project and change management abilities.

  • Ability to research, analyse, and present diverse information, make connections, identify broader issues, exercise judgment in recommendations, and produce high-quality work independently.
