Academics are looking for a passionate and confident individual to undertake our teaching assistant vacancy within a Torfaen secondary school. The applicant will be supporting the class teacher by providing support and assistance to several students with learning objectives whilst helping set up activities. You will be expected to build a rapport with pupils which will increase learning and productivity. This role commences on the 9th September 2024, and will be for the duration of the 2024/25 academic year.

Teaching Assistant - Responsibilities
- Able to successfully create a supportive and stimulating environment where pupils want to learn, develop and flourish.
- A desire to build relationships with pupils that helps productivity and ambition.
- Prepare resources, help with administrative assignments, and can confidently deliver set activities.
- Able to listen and observe pupils needs by tailoring tasks according to teacher instructions.
- Upholding and adhering to school policies and procedures related to child protection, heath and behaviour
Teaching Assistant- Required skills and qualifications
- Extensive experience working with 11 - 16 year olds OR an individual with limited experience but looking for career in education.
- Confident enough to get stuck in to be supportive and help build relationships with pupils.
- Initiative to prevent constant support for the class teacher.
- No criminal convictions - You need a valid DBS (this can be produced through us if you do not have one).
- You need to be registered with the Educational Workforce Council (this can be produced through us).
Teaching Assistant - Desirable Skills
- Full driving licence and has access to a car.
- You live in Torfaen.
- Basic understanding of the national curriculum.
