Client Details

Leading Surrey based Charity are looking to recruit a Year End Accountant on an interim basis. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Interim Year End Accountant to lead our year-end financial activities. They will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy and compliance in our financial reporting processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong accounting expertise to contribute to the success of the organisation

Description

Reporting to the Director of Finance, driving the production of the annual report and accounts of the group. Act as main point of contact for the external auditors and coordinate activities internally. Produce all relevant schedules and ensure the timely resolution of all auditor requests.

  • Lead the year-end process, including preparing financial statements, schedules, and reports in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during the audit process.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure data accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gather necessary information.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the year end processes, proposing and implementing solutions as needed.
  • Support ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by the Head of Accounting Operations.

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (CCAB standard)
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably within the charity sector or a similar nonprofit environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (UK GAAP and Charity SORP).
  • Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
