School Financial Advisor

We are currently seeking four School Financial Advisors to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidates will provide comprehensive financial and administrative management services to schools, ensuring alignment with the Service Level Agreement and Local Management of Schools regulations. This role is integral to the financial health and compliance of our educational institutions.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Maintain, control, and monitor computer finance accounts and other related records in compliance with financial regulations.
  • Plan, prepare, and evaluate school budgets, projecting income and expenditure for strategic planning.
  • Generate detailed monthly financial reports for budget tracking and provide accurate information to stakeholders.
  • Attend and advise at meetings with governing bodies, headteachers/principals, and budget managers.
  • Collaborate with school-based staff and integrate with the School Financial Advisor Team.
  • Visit schools as required, with expenses claimable from the office base to the location.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable bookkeeping/accounting experience.
  • Experience in a school office environment, preferably with SIMS accounting package.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet management and familiar with Access and Excel.
  • Knowledge of school or County Council budgetary and accounting procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Accountancy qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Candidates must possess an Enhanced DBS check.

  • Interviews will be conducted at County Hall.
  • Flexible working hours, particularly accommodating school terms.
  • Initial induction and training will be conducted at County Hall, followed by the possibility of hybrid working arrangements.
