As they continue to expand, they have a fantastic new opening for a passionate Senior Manufacturing Manager / Managing Director to join their Senior Management Team.

The Senior Manufacturing Manager / Managing Director will oversee the operations of the Company and be responsible for manufacturing activities.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Manufacturing Manager / Managing Director:

  • To ensure the company meets its budgeted annual turnover and net profit targets.
  • To oversee the company's day-to-day operations offering support and advice to the Production, Sales and Quality Departments.
  • Assist in the preparation of the company Business Plan and ensure it meets its growth and profitability targets.
  • Update the company's production processes and systems on a regular basis.
  • Direct and control the work and resources of the factory, ensuring the continued recruitment and retention of well-motivated, trained and developed staff.
  • Directly manage all aspects of production, including factory and warehouse management and operatives, and office staff.
  • Maintain and improve the Total Quality Management Systems throughout the factory to ensure efficiencies of production and that the highest quality products and services are delivered to customers.
  • Oversee the stock-holding function of the business ensuring that the company has sufficient raw materials, WIP and finished goods to meet customer demands at all times.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers ensuring that the company meets the customers' requirements.
  • To build and maintain relationships with key suppliers ensuring that the company obtains the best quality products at the best available price.
  • To ensure that the company has regular, reliable suppliers of yarn, polyurethane and backing.
  • To ensure that the company meets its ISO Quality requirements on a daily basis and to assist in the review and improvement of the requirements on a regular basis.
  • To oversee the Health & Safety in the factory, ensuring all employees follow the Health & safety Policy.

Skills & Experience required:

  • A proven record of success at management level in a factory environment within a production/engineering/textiles or related industry.
  • Substantial experience of managing people and resources.
  • Ability to think innovatively and establish new ways working.
  • An understanding of engineering. An engineering qualification would be an advantage.
  • Experience in negotiating raw material prices.
  • Experience in stock management.
  • An understanding of financial management including costing, pricing, budgeting and forecasting.
  • A high level of commercial awareness.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
