Our client is currently seeking a Senior HR Advisor to join their central school team. This pivotal role involves supporting the HR & Recruitment Manager and partnering with the HR team to deliver an effective people strategy that aligns with their Trust goals and promotes school improvement.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Collaborate with the Operations Director, HR & Recruitment Manager, HR team, Trust HR Partners, and Finance Manager to ensure a cohesive HR approach across the Trust.
  • Provide proactive HR best practice advice and support to all Trust schools, ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and best practices.
  • Establish productive dialogue with employees and their representatives to facilitate change, resolve conflict, and promote a positive working environment.
  • Build strong relationships with legal partners and Unions.
  • Draft and issue HR correspondence, manage sickness absence, probation, capability, grievance, and disciplinary cases.
  • Lead on long-term sickness absence management and liaise with Occupational Health on complex cases.
  • Support recruitment in the Central Team and Trust-wide as required.
  • Contribute to HR communications, policy review, and updates of Employment manuals, including the annual Gender Pay Gap.
  • Attend regular HR and Business Manager meetings, and HR Committee as required.
  • Uphold and promote the ethos of the Trust at all times.
  • Lead the delivery of the Trust's Wellbeing initiatives and support the development and rollout of iTrent for recruitment, HR, reporting, and data management.
  • Undertake HR project work as directed by the Operations Director/HR & Recruitment Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operational HR within a values-led organisation.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment legislation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage complex HR cases and provide best practice advice.
  • Experience with HR systems, preferably iTrent.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development within the HR field.
