Job Title: Risk Manager
Location: Slough
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Our client is a prestigious company based in Slough, are looking for a Risk Manager to assist with implementing and maintaining a risk management framework. You will ensure compliance, regulations and internal policies and procedures are adhered to.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining risk management strategies, policies, and procedures
- Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics
- Proactively identify emerging risks and reporting any deviations from established risk thresholds
- Maintain the Company risk register
- Carry out risk assessments, identifying threats and vulnerabilities, including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, financial risk, and compliance risk
- Completion of quarterly risk controls
- Follow up of action plans with various departments for any deficiencies identified during the controls testing process
- Test the adequacy and effectiveness of first level controls performed by the business, identify areas of improvements and propose corrective actions, where necessary
- Maintain an up-to-date business continuity plan (BCP) and co-ordinate BCP testing activity
- Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures
- Assist with fraud investigations where required
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management t, business administration, or a related field
- Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or other relevant professional certifications is desirable
- Prior experience in risk management or in a control function within a related financial services sector
- Excellent analytical skills
- Knowledge of the regulatory regime and the requirements and guidance issued by the regulatory bodies is desirable
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of driving change and influencing
